Experience

I am entering my 18th year of teaching in the Butts County School System. I have taught at the Middle School and the High School but Daughtry Elementary has been my home for 11 years!!

One of the best parts of being a music teacher is getting to put on plays. The Jungle Book, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, 101 Dalmatians, Go Fish!, Aristocats, Cinderella, are the plays we have done at Daughtry. Others I have directed include Oklahoma!, Oliver, and The Nutcracker.

I also get to direct the awesome Colt Chorus and Bell Choir. We have performed at the Braves Game, the Governor's Mansion the state Capitol and at many competitions where we received superior ratings.

Daughtry students have loads of talent. It is an honor to get to help them discover that talent and use it to find their calling in life.

Bio

I am married and I have 2 grown children. My husband, Greg sings in my choir at church and is my golf coach and my best friend. My daughter Cady and son Jake both went to Daughtry and were in my music program. Cady is a dancer and singer and often choreographs our plays. Jake plays drums, piano, and trumpet and he starts UGA this fall. Go Dawgs! I grew up in Jackson along with my 11 brothers and sisters. My parents are deceased now but they were always involved in all our music projects as well as our sports events. I attended Butts County schools from 1st to 12th grade and graduated in 1981 number 8 in my class. I was a cheerleader from 2nd grade through college. I loved doing gymnastics and I played tennis and softball. Now I love playing golf. My joy is serving my church in music ministry and children's ministry. I have an awesome time singing in the praise band, too. I find music brings joy in so many ways. I can't wait to start spreading that joy at Daughtry! Let's Rock!
